The fastest and most effective way to stop online aggression is to report the content and block the person on the platform.

Collect evidence
Take screenshots of problematic messages. According to the National Chamber of Commissioners of Justice, a simple screenshot is insufficient and can therefore only constitute a beginning of written proof.

File a complaint
Go to a police station / gendarmerie to file your complaint directly or with the Public Prosecutor so that judicial proceedings can begin.

Minutes (optional)
Have minutes drawn up by a commissioner of justice (bailiff) is recommended. This procedure is paid but allows authenticating your evidence.As a reminder: Cyberbullying is characterized by repeated statements or behaviors on the internet aimed at or resulting in a degradation of a victim's living conditions. It is the frequency of the statements and their insulting, obscene or threatening content that constitute harassment. The maximum penalty is 3 years in prison and €45,000 fine (French legislation).

Get the investigator's email address
